Job summary

Tree Care Partners seeks a Controller in Tempe, AZ, to oversee all accounting and reporting for a $50M+ revenue services business. This role reports to the Vice President of Finance and leads day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring timely financial reporting and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate will have 4–7 years in accounting, expertise in US GAAP (CPA preferred), and a track record of improving financial processes within a multi-entity environment.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally beginning in public accounting/audit and followed by industry experience in a multi-entity business.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting, including familiarity with US GAAP (CPA designation preferred).
• Proficiency with multiple systems, leveraging technology and integrations to automate accounting processes.
• Excellent organizational skills and natural attention to detail.
• University or College Degree.

Responsibilities

• Execute all accounting systems and processes, ensuring accounting best practices and GAAP requirements are adhered to, ultimately resulting in timely and accurate books.
• Manage monthly and annual close process, consolidation, and preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
• Maintain robust internal controls.
• Manage audit and tax engagements.
• Lead accounting system implementations and integrations to ensure data integrity and reporting alignment.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all accounting, and reporting activities across a multi-branch, $50M+ revenue services business owned by CPS Capital. This individual will lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, coordinate with HR team member and manage external finance vendors where applicable. The Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of controllership, bookkeeping, audit, tax, compliance, and financial reporting for the organization.

Accounting Leadership
