Job summary

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a growing organization to recruit an experienced Controller for the leadership team in Phoenix, AZ. This hands-on finance role oversees financial reporting, budgeting, and controls to enable scalable growth.

You will partner with the CEO, standardize policies, lead the accounting team, own month-end close, and drive timely, insightful reporting for senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in professional accounting & finance, with leadership experience.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and treasury operations.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and policy standardization.
  • Excellent communication with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly close, consolidation, and variance analysis.
  • Lead budgeting processes and forecasts across departments.
  • Maintain internal controls and policy compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Provide data-driven insights to senior leadership for decision making.
  • Direct treasury activities including cash forecasting and banking relationships.
  • Partner with CEO to set benchmarks and reporting rhythms.
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team.

Adecco is partnering with a growing organization in their search for an experienced Controller to join their leadership team on a direct-hire basis. Our client is looking for a finance professional with strong industry accounting experience — ideally at a senior level — who can bring structure, insight, and clear communication to their budgeting and reporting functions. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting & finance leader impact the vision of the organization.

About the Role

Our client needs a Controller who can oversee financial reporting, manage budgeting processes, and give senior leadership the visibility they need to scale efficiently.

What You'll Own
  • Build clear, data-driven financial reports for leadership, surfacing the metrics that matter most
  • Apply company policy to sound financial decisions given current market conditions
  • Design and maintain financial controls that keep the organization on solid footing
  • Drive budget performance through disciplined planning, analysis, and course-correction
  • Contribute to near-term and long-range operational planning
Core Responsibilities
  • Safeguard company funds by maintaining strong controls over revenue, costs, and departmental budgets vs. actuals
  • Partner with the CEO to set financial benchmarks and establish biweekly, monthly, and annual reporting rhythms
  • Standardize accounting policies and procedures across the organization, staying current on relevant tax law at every jurisdictional level
  • Build and enforce internal controls that protect company assets and strengthen operational workflows
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and productivity
  • Own the month-end close and consolidation across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and speed
  • Direct all treasury functions — cash forecasting, banking relationships, and account oversight
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 10+ years in professional accounting & finance(audit background a plus)
  • Experience with GAAP Accounting, treasury operations, banking workflows, and financial analysis
  • Familiarity with tax compliance requirements at the national and local level
  • A track record of improving and streamlining accounting operations
  • Strong project management skills applied to finance initiatives
Nice to Have
  • 7+ years in a senior accounting or finance management role
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification
