Position Overview

The Controller will lead the financial management of the company, ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and compliance. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has prior experience in real estate development or construction accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage QuickBooks accounting software for all entities
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Track and report on project costs, construction draws, and development budgets
• Coordinate with lenders and investors for financial reporting and capital calls
• Handle intercompany transactions and entity consolidations
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Support year-end audit and tax preparation with external CPA firms
• Lead and develop a small accounting/admin team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate development or construction
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks (Enterprise or Online)
• Deep understanding of job costing, development accounting, and financial reporting
• Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal team members, investors, and third parties
