Toloka is looking for a Financial Controller, US. The Financial Controller, US will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of our financial reporting across all legal entities. You will oversee US GAAP compliance, manage the close process, lead audits, and support strategic finance initiatives. This is a critical role for a CPA with strong technical skills and a builder mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across US and international entities
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies
• Manage consolidated financial reporting and internal controls
• Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and transfer pricing consultants
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, documentation, and procedures
• Oversee sales tax compliance, collaborating with platforms (such as Avalara)
• Support revenue recognition under ASC 606, working with billing/revenue ops
• Drive ERP implementation/integration (NetSuite)
• Collaborate with FP&A on budget-vs-actual variance analysis and cash flow forecasting
• Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team (outsource and in-house) as we scale

Requirements:

• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
• Strong command of US GAAP, revenue recognition, and consolidation
• Prior experience in a VC-backed, start-up environment strongly preferred
• Familiarity with sales tax, VAT, and transfer pricing frameworks
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency accounting
• Ability to lead and grow a team, while rolling up sleeves when needed
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
