Job summary

Our client, a rapidly growing fintech company based in NYC, is seeking an experienced Controller to own accounting, reporting and regulatory compliance across a multi-entity organization.

This hands-on leadership role requires deep US GAAP knowledge, broker-dealer experience, and the ability to build an accounting infrastructure in a fast-moving, regulated markets environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years accounting experience in fintech/financial services or capital markets.
• Deep US GAAP knowledge and hands-on audits leadership.
• Broker-dealer accounting and regulatory compliance experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and finance operations across multiple entities.
• Manage monthly and quarterly close cycles and consolidate financial statements per US GAAP.
• Build liquidity tracking, treasury functions and cash movement approvals.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and local statutory/regulatory reporting requirements.
• Manage capital compliance and regulatory reporting.

Out client is a rapidly growing Fintech company based in NYC with a global presence.

The Role

Looking for an experienced Controller to own accounting, reporting, and regulatory compliance across a multi-entity organization. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to build an accounting infrastructure inside a fast-growing, global fintech company. Someone comfortable operating with the rigor expected in regulated capital markets while staying nimble enough to keep pace with a company that moves quickly.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee all accounting and finance operations across multiple entities spanning the US and other jurisdictions, including a holdings company, registered broker-dealer, and other regulated or investment vehicles
• Manage monthly and quarterly close cycles and prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Build and maintain liquidity tracking, treasury functions and cash movement approvals.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and relevant local statutory/regulatory reporting requirements across all offices
• Manage capital compliance and regulatory reporting

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to fintech, financial services, or capital markets
• Deep working knowledge of US GAAP and hands-on experience leading audits
• Prior hands-on broker-dealer accounting and compliance experience required including net capital compliance, FINRA reporting, and regulatory relationship management
