Job summary

The Consultancy Group, partnering with a fast-growing international fintech with operations across North America, EMEA and APAC, is hiring a Financial Controller to join their New York team.

This CPA-qualified controller with 1–2 years post-qualification experience will help ensure the integrity of financial reporting, strengthen controls and support growth across a multi-entity business, collaborating with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• CPA-qualified with 1-2 years post-qualification experience.
• Big 4 or Top 20 accounting background preferred.
• Experience in Financial Services, FinTech, Payments, Banking or Capital Markets.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls and accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end and year-end close process across multiple entities.
• Review journal entries and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, intercompany balances and fixed asset schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements.
• Support external audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks as the business scales.
• Partner with finance, operations and risk teams across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve, automate and streamline finance processes.
• Contribute to finance transformation and systems enhancement initiatives.

The business has experienced exceptional growth and is continuing to scale its global finance function.

As part of this growth, our client is seeking a highly motivated Financial Controller to join the New York finance team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a CPA-qualified accountant with 1-2 years of post-qualification experience looking to take the next step in their career within a dynamic, international and high-growth environment.

The Opportunity

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, strengthening controls and supporting the ongoing growth of a complex multi-entity business.

You'll gain exposure to international operations, regulatory reporting, finance transformation initiatives and senior stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the month-end and year-end close process across multiple entities
• Review journal entries and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely

About You

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:

• 1-2 years post-qualification experience
• Big 4 or Top 20 public accounting background preferred
• Financial Services, FinTech, Payments, Banking or Capital Markets experience
• Experience gained either:
• Auditing Financial Services clients within public accounting; or
• Working within a Financial Services or FinTech business following qualification
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls and accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is advantageous
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, hands‑on approach and desire to work in a fast‑paced growth environment
