Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation seeks a Financial Control Program Manager to lead regulatory reporting QA testing within the RRO framework. You will plan, execute, and deliver testing cycles, assess risks, and oversee senior staff to ensure data quality and reporting integrity.

You will collaborate with Accounting, Risk, Treasury, and Data Management to resolve issues and strengthen controls. This role requires strong governance experience and a drive for process improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Internal Controls, Public Accounting, Internal Audit, or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters or MBA preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of internal control analysis, risk assessment methodologies, Sarbanes-Oxley Section 302/402 and/or FRB reporting requirements, COSO framework, Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) standards, and/or generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of general banking operations including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels within the Company.
  • Advanced exceptional time management; detail oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • Occasional travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments and perform conformance, transaction, and control testing to evaluate data quality and reporting integrity.
  • Supervise senior and staff-level employees, providing guidance, reviewing work, and ensuring adherence to RRO standards.
  • Analyze discrepancies, assess impact on regulatory reporting, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
  • Assist the Associate Director in preparing and presenting detailed reports on RRO results, findings, and recommendations to management and governance committees.
  • Partner with Accounting, Risk, Treasury, Operations, and Data Management teams to address data quality issues and enhance reporting processes.
  • Lead or participate in projects and initiatives related to regulatory reporting and quality assurance.

Job Title: Financial Control Program Manager

What you'll do:

The Regulatory Reporting Oversight (RRO) - Financial Control Program Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of regulatory reporting quality assurance testing in alignment with the company's compliance framework. This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of regulatory reporting through comprehensive risk assessments, conformance reviews, transaction testing, and control evaluations. The RRO Program Manager will oversee, and review work performed by senior and staff-level team members, including the preparation and reporting of test results, project deliverables, and special assignments. Acting as a key liaison, this position interacts frequently with stakeholders across the organization to strengthen the control environment and support regulatory compliance objectives.
