Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Medicare Finance team. The role involves conducting and documenting complex financial analyses and providing guidance to less experienced analysts. The position offers a hybrid in-office and work-from-home schedule and is based in the U.S. Steel Tower in Pittsburgh.

You will develop forecasts, perform advanced financial analyses, mentor staff, and create PowerBI reports to support strategic decisions.

As the Financial Analyst, Senior, you will conduct and document complex financial analysis projects while supporting the Medicare Finance team. You will also provide functional advice or training to less experienced financial analysts. This position offers a hybrid in-office and work from home schedule. Monday-Friday 8am - 4:30pm with flexibility on the start/end times. The role is based in the U.S. Steel Tower.

Responsibilities:

• Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
• Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported.
• Act as a mentor for Financial Analysts or administrative staff.
• Analyze complex financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
• Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
• Plan and conduct complex studies to determine cost of business activities. Recommend budget adjustments, and other cost improvement measures.
• Create, update, and use PowerBI reporting.
