Job summary

The Department of Administrative and Financial Services - Security and Employment Service Center in Augusta, ME seeks a Financial Analyst to manage the financial resources of multiple departments. The role is based in Augusta with some telework availability.

Responsibilities include monitoring federal award subrecipients, analyzing department finances, designing data queries, and preparing forecasts and reports.

Qualifications

• Eight-year combination of education and experience; Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field with two years in cost, cost/benefit, and financial analysis.
• Direct substitution for education on a year-for-year basis is allowed.
• Strong analytical, budgeting, reporting, and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor subrecipients of federal awards and prepare reports.
• Analyze departmental finances and forecast needs.
• Design and manage complex data queries and interpret results.
• Prepare financial reports including forecasting and ad hoc analyses.
• Analyze financial policies and implement approved modifications.
• Maintain accounting records in compliance with laws and budgets.
• Develop, forecast, and track annual budgets and federal grant budgets.
• Supervise and mentor staff; provide leadership and guidance.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to facilitate financial processing.
