Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Finance Analyst to prepare monthly and annual financial statements and support analysis. You will assist in implementing GAAP across statements and support senior analysts and management on special projects.

You will participate in regulatory reporting, budget analysis, and collaboration across departments to ensure accurate financial data and compliant processes. This on-site role shifts to remote Thursdays and Fridays, with every-other Tuesday offsite, after initial

Qualifications

• Zero to three years in general accounting experience (including financial statement preparation).
• Must possess knowledge and understanding of accounting practice and theory, specifically Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Ability to work independently to achieve goals and prioritize work assignments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing the Hospital and related Virtua Health financial statements with GAAP compliance, including service group analysis and cash flow analysis reviewed by senior management and Virtua Health Board of Trustees.
• Prepare and analyze financial data such as operating budget detail, statistics, revenue by payer, expenses, cash analysis, balance sheets; provide support to operational leadership.
• Assist in preparing and analyzing financial data for regulatory agencies including IRS, NJ Charitable Registration, Medicare, Medicaid, and state cost reports, bond compliance, AHA surveys, etc.
• Assist in ensuring audit compliance through preparation of work papers and analysis for internal and external auditors.
• Provide financial analysis assistance to managers to monitor operating expenses, budgeting, balance sheet, capital expenditures, and cost/benefit analyses with decision support tools.
• Collaborate with staff to create best practice standards for financial analysis and documentation.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Onsite for 5-6 weeks, then remote Thursdays and Fridays, and every other Tuesday.

Summary

Responsible for preparing monthly and annual financial statements, supporting analysis and supplemental schedules.

Assists in implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles on all financial statements.

Supports the Senior Financial Analysts and Finance Management Team in preparing for special projects.

Acts as a Finance representative on committees and at meetings as necessary.

Position Responsibilities

• Assists with preparing the Hospital and or related entity of Virtua Health Financial Statements with GAAP compliance. Including Service Group Analysis and Cash Flow Analysis, which are reviewed by Senior Management and Virtua Health Board of Trustees.
• Prepares and assists in the analysis of financial data. I.E. Operating budget detail, statistics, revenue by payer, expense, cash analysis, balance sheets and provides support to Operational Leadership.
• Assists in preparing and analyzing financial data for Regulatory Agencies including Federal and State. I.E. IRS 990 tax exempt return, NJ Charitable Registration, Medicare, Medicaid, and State Cost Reports, Bond Compliance, AHA Surveys, etc.

• Provides financial analysis assistance to Managers in order for them to adequately monitor operating expenses, budgeting, balance sheet, capital expenditures and/or cost/benefit or other analysis of existing or proposed services with Decision Support System Tools.
• Collaborates with staff to create best practice standards for financial analysis and documentation.

$59,559 - $92,649 Yearly
