The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking a Financial Analyst (Fiscal Services Administrator II) to play a crucial role in ensuring financial stability and efficiency. Based in the Office of Financial Management within the Department of Transportation, the analyst will handle annual expense projections, budget preparation, governmental reporting, and system modernization for expense tracking. The role involves financial planning, budget management, analysis for special projects, and statistical reporting, impacting MTA's operations and financial health. Regular meetings with departmental managers and MDOT staff are expected.
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, business or public administration, finance, economics, or related field from an accredited institution.
Experience: Six years in professional accounting, auditing, budgeting, or financial management.
The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, analytical, with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for financial data.
Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license in Maryland if required for duties.
