About Craft Work Capital

Craft Work Capital was formed to invest in and help grow mechanical, electrical and related specialty contracting firms. Our team’s industry experience and track record give us real insight into what makes these businesses tick, and how to create lasting value alongside the people who run them.

Our Mission

To make strategic investments in great mechanical, electrical and specialty contracting companies, and through capital and hands-on support, enable their leadership teams to take their businesses to the next level.

Our Vision

Mechanical and electrical contractors are at the forefront of U.S. economic vitality. The reindustrialization of America, continued investment in high tech, healthcare and education, and rising customer demands for energy security and efficiency all depend on the high-value solutions these firms deliver.

OUR VALUES
HARD WORK

We value hard work and work done well: work that creates value for customers, partners and teammates.

INTEGRITY

We are fair and direct in every circumstance. We do what we say we will do, and when we fall short, we own it and make it right.

TEAMWORK

Teamwork is a force multiplier. Built on a clear purpose, a shared mission and common values, a team achieves far more than individuals.

THE ROLE

  • Business diligence. Analyze target company performance using granular operating data such as backlog, job-level margins, WIP schedules and customer mix, together with material from management teams, advisors and third-party providers.
  • Industry research. Research the mechanical, electrical and specialty contracting markets, including end-market demand drivers, labor and cost trends, regulatory and economic factors, and new investment opportunities.
  • Investment materials. Prepare investment committee memos, lender presentations and other marketing materials.
  • Transaction execution. Support acquisitions, financings and due diligence efforts, coordinating with legal, accounting and other advisors.
  • Portfolio support. Partner with portfolio company leadership on performance tracking, reporting and value-creation initiatives.

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong financial modeling and Excel proficiency.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting and economic principles, financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Understanding of the management principles behind strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly at both a conceptual and technical level, in writing and in person.
  • Genuine interest in specialty contracting and industrial businesses, and a fit with our values of hard work, integrity and teamwork.
