Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Financial Analyst for US Engineering Finance to support engineering projects with budgeting, labor reporting, and project cost analysis. You will work with Program Administrators, Control Account Managers, and other stakeholders to develop budgets and ensure accurate financial data.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's or Bachelor's in Business/Finance with 2+ years of experience, preferably with FP&A and SAP familiarity.

  • Associate's or higher in Business/Finance with 2+ years of experience; FP&A experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle large datasets and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain budgets for engineering projects.
  • Provide financial insights to cross-functional teams and support process improvements.
  • Process project setups and maintain data integrity for SAP projects.
  • Reconcile labor data, time tickets, and SAP project data.
  • Assist in month-end reporting and labor/operational cost analysis.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly labor and expense reports and MPV/consumption reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses as needed.

About The Role

The Financial Analyst - US Engineering role at Rolls-Royce is a vital position within the Engineering Finance team, responsible for providing financial support and analysis to ensure the successful execution of engineering projects. This role involves working closely with Program Administrators, Control Account Managers, and other stakeholders to manage financial data, ensure accurate labor reporting, and support business reporting activities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing budgets, processing project setups, and resolving financial discrepancies related to engineering labor and project costs. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's degree in Business or Finance with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance, or a Master's degree in the same fields. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents to be considered for this position. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle large datasets are essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong understanding of financial principles will be highly valued.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and maintaining budgets for engineering projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial policies.
  • Support cross-functional teams by providing financial insights and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
  • Process project setup and maintenance requests accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring data integrity.
  • Reconcile and resolve issues related to electronic work booking, time ticket rejects, and SAP project data.
  • Ensure compliance with labor reporting processes and organizational standards.
  • Organize and analyze large volumes of engineering labor data to support decision-making.
  • Create data files for Research & Development (R&D) tax credit claims, coordinating data vetting through interviews with engineers.
  • Prepare journal entries related to timekeeping adjustments and other financial transactions.
  • Assist in month-end reporting activities, including labor and operational cost analysis.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on labor and operational expenses to support financial oversight.
  • Manage month-end supply chain accruals and maintain the duty to report tracker.
  • Prepare monthly MPV and consumption reports, providing insights into project performance and resource utilization.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management or project teams.
