Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Finance Analyst for a 12-month contract in a hybrid role available in Tempe, AZ or Des Moines, IA or Irving, TX. You will evaluate pricing opportunities, analyze financial impacts, and partner with Sales and Relationship teams to deliver data-driven pricing decisions.

You will examine merchant data such as volume, trends, and cost structures to balance competitive pricing with profitability and risk, while ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent.
• 4+ years in Merchant Services, Payments, or related analytical field.
• Experience analyzing data and making data-driven recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and modeling.
• Exposure to pricing, revenue analysis, or profitability assessment.
• Understand merchant pricing concepts (interchange, assessments, processing fees).
• Experience with pricing, reporting, or business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate pricing opportunities and support decisions impacting client relationships, profitability and growth.
• Partner with Merchant Services Sales and Relationship Managers to analyze pricing requests and provide recommendations.
• Evaluate transaction volume, processing trends, seasonality, and cost structures to balance pricing, profitability, risk, and compliance objectives.
• Operate as an analytical professional who enjoys data, problem solving, and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in moderately complex Finance initiatives and contribute to planning related to Finance deliverables.
• Review and analyze moderately complex Finance challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of variables.
• Collaborate with client personnel in Finance to resolve issues and meet deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent
• 4+ years of experience in Merchant Services, Payments, Financial Services, Operations, Pricing, Finance, or a related analytical field.
• Experience analyzing data and making recommendations based on financial, operational, or business insights.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple requests and meet established deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and modeling.
• Exposure to pricing, financial analysis, revenue analysis, or profitability assessment.
• Basic understanding of merchant pricing concepts, including interchange, assessments, processing fees, and related cost structures.
• Experience working with pricing, reporting, or business intelligence tools.
