Job summary

Stony Brook University seeks a Business Systems Analyst to ensure operational efficacy of financial aid technology and to serve as a liaison between business and IT teams. The role designs and documents workflows, translates user needs into software requirements, and helps drive system improvements within the PeopleSoft environment and related systems.

Responsibilities include system support, process analysis, stakeholder engagement, data reporting, and assisting with upgrades and data security

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required and three years of related administrative experience.
Experience with SQL and/or PS Query; proficiency in data analysis.
Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Experience designing and documenting workflows.
Ability to analyze and document complex business processes.

Responsibilities

System Support & Optimization: troubleshoot and resolve inquiries; maintain security and access controls.
Business Process Analysis & Strategic Improvement: analyze future needs, document processes, and ensure data integrity.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: liaise between business, IT, and end users; facilitate training and change management.
Reporting & Data Analysis: generate financial aid reports and analyze data to support decisions.
Other duties or projects as assigned.
