Job summary

UW-Oshkosh is seeking a Business Systems Analyst III to serve as the primary liaison between functional offices and the PeopleSoft development team. You will document business needs, guide updates to the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions system, and help ensure operational integrity.

You will collaborate with the Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Admissions to support daily operations, coordinate testing, author design documents, and triage issues before escalation.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in a business analyst role supporting enterprise administrative systems in a complex organizational environment.
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional specifications or design documents for technical teams.
• Experience supporting or coordinating system testing, including unit and system testing activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience troubleshooting issues within enterprise application workflows or system integrations.

Responsibilities

• Develops and assesses opportunities for new unit staff training opportunities.
• Serves as a project lead for lower level IT staff providing guidance on specific project goals, outcomes, and technological components.
• Provides advanced procedural and technical guidance to unit staff regarding technology usage and management.
• Performs complex data analyses and reporting.
• Designs, develops, and implements complex data reporting and business intelligence systems.
• Provides guidance to lower level staff in the design, development, and implementation of data reporting and business intelligence systems.
• Makes recommendations in the selection of technology solutions to align with business strategies.
• Provides direction for the mapping of business processes using advanced process-mapping methodologies.
• Serves as a subject matter expert to institutional and unit leadership on critical technology issues.
