Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking a Financial Aid Technician to support students and staff with financial aid requirements and eligibility determinations. The role involves evaluating applicant files, providing administrative support to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, and coordinating activities with college divisions, lenders, and state agencies.

Qualifications

• An Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in accounting, or equivalent.
• Two years of increasingly responsible general clerical experience including one year of accounting clerical or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify and analyze account information.
• Interpret and explain College policies and procedures relating to financial aid.
• Process financial aid awards, input data, assign account codes, make adjusting entries, and balance assigned funds and accounts.
• Coordinate with students, faculty, staff, lenders, and agencies to meet needs and resolve issues.
• Prepare applicable financial aid reports related to the assigned area of responsibility.
• Respond to inquiries from faculty, administrative staff, and students regarding awards and related policies.

Education

Associate’s degree in accounting or closely related field

Two years of general clerical experience including one year of accounting clerical or related experience
