Job summary

Ensign College seeks an Immersive Learning Student Employee - Financial Aid Specialist to assist with financial aid processes, answer questions, and support daily office operations. You will provide friendly, confidential service to students and families, helping them navigate the financial aid journey.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an Ensign College student taking at least 6 credits and in good academic standing.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills and confidence.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and detail oriented.
• Ability to solve problems, ask questions, and work both independently.
• Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and able to learn new software quickly.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service in person, by phone, and through email.
• Assist students with general financial aid and scholarship questions through outreach events in partnership with Admissions and Student Leadership.
• Provide financial aid and scholarship counseling to incoming and/or returning students.
• Assist students with completing required aid steps correctly and with minimal friction.
• Increase student belonging on campus through building relationships with students and maintaining empathetic communication and timely follow up.
• Drive application and documentation submission rates in assigned cohort, ensuring that awards are ready to be processed and financial aid steps are complete.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and institutional policies.
• Manage daily office responsibilities, prioritize assignments, and contribute to an efficient and collaborative team environment.
• Escalate complex student concerns to professional staff when appropriate.
• Lead and complete additional projects as assigned.
