Knowledge of appropriate use of professional judgment to adjust FAFSA information when dependency status appeals are received. Knowledge of University, state, and federal financial aid programs - eligibility criteria, application processes, reconciliation of inconsistencies in applicant information. Knowledge of University payment policies and procedures. Basic knowledge of U.S. tax forms and relationship of tax form items to financial aid application information. Ability to counsel student borrowers about debt management through the use of various websites. Knowledge of record flow within Banner to accurately interpret and revise applicant's records, including recalculation of financial need. Knowledge of technology in order to use information sources and produce student correspondence using word processing and email programs. Working knowledge of the University.

Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver’s License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.

Veterans who qualify for preference must provide proof of eligibility within ten (10) working days of submitting an application.
