Job summary

San José-Evergreen Community College District is seeking a Financial Aid Outreach Specialist to promote and manage financial aid programs. This grant-funded role works with the Director of Financial Aid to inform students and families, process applications, and ensure eligibility in line with federal/state guidelines.

The position runs 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with a comprehensive benefits package including health plans, CalPERS pension contributions, and pre-tax savings options.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in business, accounting, social services or related field.
• Four years of outreach and financial aid experience.
• Ability to present information to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement outreach policies and strategies to increase student participation in financial aid programs.
• Present financial aid information to students, parents, staff and the community in various settings.
• Create outreach materials and events to raise awareness of financial aid services.
• Collaborate with college departments to coordinate district-wide outreach efforts.
• Assist students with financial aid applications and determine eligibility according to regulations.
