Job summary

University of North Texas in Denton seeks a Financial Aid Counselor to join the Financial Aid & Scholarships team. This role provides comprehensive counseling on federal, state, and institutional aid programs, analyzes need, and handles loan processing to support students and families.

You will work with PeopleSoft, NSLDS and related systems, ensuring accuracy, timely service, and excellent customer experience. Monday–Friday schedule with standard office hours.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and two years of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common office software; strong organizational skills.
• Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively with students and families.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and educate students and families regarding federal, state and institutional policies, procedures and regulations.
• Analyze and process financial aid and/or scholarship applications for need analysis and satisfactory academic progress.
• Maintain knowledge of FAS policies and procedures and update materials as regulations change.
• Participate in outreach initiatives and conduct presentations as assigned.
• Manage detailed loan program tasks including Parent PLUS and Graduate PLUS loans.
