Georgia Southern University is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor - Customer Relations to provide expert financial aid counseling to students and supporters at the Armstrong Campus in Savannah throughout their academic careers.

In this full-time, non-exempt role you will assist with FAFSA submissions, advise on federal and state aid, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with campus partners to ensure accurate, compliant information. A strong customer-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Two or more years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with and counsel students and/or supporters, virtually or in-person, to advise on federal and state financial aid programs, eligibility requirements, and application processes.
  • Assist students/parents with FAFSA submission, tax information and requirements, student loan eligibility information, etc.
  • Assist with responding to service requests (phone, emails, tickets, appointments, etc.).
  • Perform outreach to students regarding financial aid requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current federal and state regulations governing financial aid to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with various campus partners/departments to provide accurate information for students.
  • Represent the Financial Aid Office at University events.
  • Engage students, supporters, campus and community partners by presenting compelling communication, both in-person and virtually.

Job Summary
