Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor 1 to join our Financial Aid team. Advisors counsel a diverse population of students and parents on all aspects of financial aid, including program eligibility, budgeting, financial planning strategies, and satisfactory academic progress.

You will review aid applications, package financial aid, administer aid programs, and monitor student eligibility within federal, state, and institutional regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and two years of related work experience OR Master's Degree and one year of related work experience.
• Related work experience in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel a diverse population of students and parents on all aspects of financial aid, including program eligibility and budgeting.
• Review aid applications and package financial aid; administer aid programs and monitor student eligibility.
• Deliver excellent customer service and collaborate with office leadership on core functions.
• Assist with areas such as Federal Work Study, Loan Management, Scholarship Management, Verification, and Outreach.
