Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte in Wilmington, DE seeks an Accounting & Finance Systems Manager to advance the firm’s contract-to-cash systems through day-to-day support and technology‑driven improvements.

You will partner with Accounting, IT, and stakeholders to deliver enhancements, automation, controls, and standardized processes across the lifecycle, driving efficiency and audit readiness. This role requires leadership, vendor management, and translating business needs into technical deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years experience in systems implementation, product ownership, or process improvement in finance.
• Experience with Contract‑to‑Cash processes and systems; familiarity with integrated ERP systems.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical deliverables and lead initiatives end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, auditability, and financial risk.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Capable of independent work and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and improve Contract‑to‑Cash enabling systems and related workflows.
• Define and maintain the Contract‑to‑Cash roadmap with priorities and timelines.
• Lead discovery to identify pain points and improve cycle times.
• Translate business needs into artifacts: maps, requirements, user stories, tests.
• Deliver end‑to‑end system enhancements from design to adoption.
• Manage day‑to‑day vendor relationships for Contract‑to‑Cash portfolios.
• Identify and pilot automation, AI, and emerging technologies.
• Ensure changes align with internal controls and data governance.
• Track metrics like cycle time and adoption to drive improvements.
• Create documentation and training to standardize adoption.
• Collaborate with Accounting and Finance Systems team for reusable patterns.
