Job summary

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is seeking a Financial Systems Manager in the Finance department. The role can be based in Dallas, New York, or Washington, DC with hybrid work capabilities. You will oversee a Financial Systems team and manage platforms like Aderant Expert, iTimekeep, INTAPP Open, Chrome River, and more.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in people or project management, and strong SQL, Excel, and VBA skills. Bachelor's degree required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, computer systems or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of people or project management responsibility.
• Experience with Aderant Expert and related customization tools.
• Advanced SQL Server Management Studio and T-SQL skills; SSRS/SSIS; VBA.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support Financial Systems team members; define objectives and conduct appraisals.
• Manage and maintain the firm’s financial systems (Aderant, iTimekeep, INTAPP, Chrome River, etc.).
• Oversee data integrity, security, performance, and end-user experience.
• Assist in evaluating business needs for new technology solutions and innovations.
• Lead/participate in system upgrades, testing, and new software implementations.
• Coordinate month-end closing activities for the finance group.
• Document interfaces between financial databases and applications.
• Provide Help Desk support for financial systems.
• Create functional/technical documentation and train finance users.
