Buckingham Search is recruiting for an Accounting & Finance Systems Manager in Chicago. The role sits at the intersection of Accounting, Finance, and Technology, driving system enhancements, process improvements, automation, and efficiencies across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/IS or related field.
• 7+ years of experience supporting finance systems or accounting operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and financial controls.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience with ERP/finance systems a plus, Aderant familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance Accounting & Finance systems across the Contract-to-Cash lifecycle (billing, revenue, A/R, collections, client arrangements).
• Partner with Accounting and IT to define system roadmaps, priorities, and improvements.
• Lead process analysis to reduce manual work and strengthen controls.
• Translate business requirements into system enhancements, testing plans, and docs.
• Manage system improvements from concept through deployment and vendor coordination.
