Job summary

Buckingham Search is seeking an Accounting & Finance Systems Manager in Chicago, IL for a hybrid role with one day in the office. You will lead the evolution of our Contract-to-Cash ecosystem, partnering with Accounting, IT and business leaders to modernize financial operations, implement innovative solutions, and create a more efficient, scalable finance organization.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in finance systems, business systems analysis, product ownership, ERP implementation, or process improvement supporting Accounting or Finance.
• Strong understanding of Contract-to-Cash processes, including billing, pricing, revenue management, accounts receivable, collections, cash application, and client arrangements.
• Experience working with enterprise financial systems; Aderant experience is a plus.

• Lead projects from discovery through implementation, including business analysis, process mapping, requirements gathering, system configuration, testing, deployment, and user adoption.
• Translate complex business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, testing plans, and implementation documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously enhance the firm's Contract-to-Cash processes, including billing, revenue management, client arrangements, accounts receivable, collections, cash application, and related financial workflows.
• Partner with Accounting, IT, and business stakeholders to develop and execute a strategic roadmap for finance systems and process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, streamline workflows, improve controls, and enhance the overall user experience.
• Lead projects from discovery through implementation, including business analysis, process mapping, requirements gathering, system configuration, testing, deployment, and user adoption.
• Translate complex business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, testing plans, and implementation documentation.
• Manage relationships with third-party software vendors, oversee system enhancements, evaluate new functionality, and drive continuous platform optimization.
• Champion the use of automation, AI, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and reporting.
• Ensure system enhancements align with internal controls, audit requirements, data governance standards, and downstream financial reporting.
• Develop and monitor operational KPIs, adoption metrics, and process performance to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Create documentation, training materials, and self-service resources that promote standardization and increase user adoption.
• Collaborate with Finance Systems and IT teams to deliver scalable, enterprise-wide solutions while serving as the subject matter expert for the Contract-to-Cash portfolio.
