Job summary

HDR is seeking an Accounting Systems Director to lead the Oracle EPM and ERP processing teams. You will drive cross-functional process improvements and ensure accurate monthly close and reporting.

You will lead a multi-year technology development effort, oversee system processing, and partner with senior leaders to optimize data usage and financial insights for HDR's global operations. This role requires strong leadership, CPA or CMA or equivalent, and the ability to navigate complex technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, accounting & finance, or directly related field.
• At least 10 years of corporate accounting, public accounting, ERP processing and administration, internal audit or other directly related experience.
• 5+ years managing teams, preferably managing managers with multiple direct reports.
• CPA, Oracle Cloud ERP, CMA, CIA, CPP or similar designation, or master’s degree.
• Proven ability to balance strategic concepts and leadership with support provided to ensure consistent execution of tasks, procedures, and technological or business changes.
• Strong ability to prioritize competing deadlines and lead teams through high-volume close, reporting, and audit cycles.
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities, system changes, and cross-functional dependencies.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify risks, evaluate alternatives, and elevate matters appropriately.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex accounting, system, or process matters clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of technical and business acumen.
• Strong business acumen and ability to understand how accounting and system activities impact financial reporting, operational decisions, and stakeholder needs
• Ability to influence without direct authority and build credibility with senior leaders, peers, managers, and cross-functional partners.
• Highly analytical in nature with a real eye for detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills required
• Structured and organized in their approach
• Excellent financial and management reporting skills

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Development: Maintain prioritization and focus of teams with a balance that supports both day-to-day responsibilities and longer-term organization goals, including continual improvement initiatives.
• System Processing Team: Oversee month-end system processing and quality control checkpoints to ensure financial data is produced accurately, timely, and with strong clear communication to stakeholders.
• EPM: Oversee technical and functional support of Oracle EPM applications, including Planning and Budgeting (PBC), Profitability and Cost Management (PCM), Financial Close & Consolidation (FCC), Account Reconciliation System (ARC), Tax Reporting (TRC), and Enterprise Data Management (EDM).
• Characteristics: Highly analytical, strong communication, ability to influence and navigate complex environments, and deliver reliable financial reporting.
