Job summary

Fireside, located in Washington, seeks an experienced billing and accounting supervisor to lead a team responsible for Billing, AP, AR, and Credit functions. You will ensure accurate invoicing, manage cash flow, and drive process improvements from Sumner, WA.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting with supervisory experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Office; SAP familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting/Finance from four-year college or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, preferably in construction, contracting, or building materials.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex financial documents.
  • Ability to negotiate with internal and external sources.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge with SAP software preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, coach and develop Billing, AP, AR, Credit, and accounting team members.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings, provide performance feedback, complete evaluations, and maintain a positive, accountable team environment.
  • Oversee daily billing operations to ensure invoices are accurate and timely.
  • Monitor billing activity, WIP reports, revenue trends, and department performance.
  • Resolve billing issues, customer disputes, and escalated account concerns.
  • Manage Accounts Payable operations to ensure invoices are processed accurately and paid on time.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and maximize payment discounts when possible.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and collections activities, including aging reports and lien-right compliance.
  • Support customer service and collections teams with complex disputes and credit decisions.
  • Assist with bad debt reviews and write-off recommendations.
  • Prepare and distribute budgets, forecasts, financial statements, and management reports.
  • Analyze financial results, reconciliations, and KPIs to support decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and cash flow.
  • Support senior leadership with reporting, financial analysis, and special projects.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain compliance with policies, accounting standards, controls, and safety regulations.
  • Abide by safety rules and report/correct hazards.

Wage Scale:

$80,168.40 - $90,000 annually

Benefits:

Full-time Regular Employees (and their families) can enroll in medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, and 401K. Employees will also accrue 80 hours of paid vacation per year for the first 9 years and eight paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior leadership with reporting, financial analysis, and special projects.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, internal controls, audit requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Abiding by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory. agencies and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree, bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 5 years accounting experience, preferably in a construction, contracting, or building materials environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents such as financial statements, technical journals, and legal documents.
  • Ability to negotiate with internal and external sources.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications such as Work, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge with SAP software preferred but not required.
