The Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Student Associate - Membership (work-study) to support the museum's membership program. This paid, part-time role runs for the 2026-2027 academic year, at about 12 hours weekly, and requires a current UT Austin undergraduate eligible for work-study.

You will enter data into Altru and VIP databases, organize membership materials, and assist at events under supervision, with duties including mailing letters and maintaining

Job Details: The Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas at Austin is known for its bold vision, from a dynamic reinstallation of the collection galleries in 2017, to the opening of Ellsworth Kelly’s monumental work of art, Austin, in 2018, and redesign of its grounds by Snøhetta in 2023, and the exhibitions and educational programs that define the museum’s role in the community. Purpose The purpose of this position is to assist in the administration of the Blanton Museum of Art’s membership program. This opportunity will enable a committed and enthusiastic student to learn important career skills related to arts administration, museums, special events, and fundraising. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply. This position is open to current UT Austin work-study students who meet the required qualifications listed below. Applicants should expect to work fall and spring semesters during the 2026-2027 academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Data entry into the Blanton’s Altru database and the University’s VIP database
  • Organize, collate, and mail membership acknowledgement letters
  • Photocopy paperwork to be included in files and records
  • Prepare and maintain the supply of membership benefit collateral
  • Maintain individual files and correspondence on active and inactive members
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical duties, as needed
  • Assist at membership and development special events, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a current UT Austin undergraduate student in good standing enrolled in at least 6 credits during the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semesters.
  • Must have proof of current participation in the Work-Study program and be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Desire to learn about general office or fundraising operations at a not-for-profit organization
  • Discretion and professionalism in dealing with sensitive information
  • Some office-related knowledge or experience
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work with professional museum staff as a team
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

  • Previous office experience
  • Previous data entry experience

Salary $15.00 per hour

Working Conditions Standard office environment

Work Shift 10-12 hours per week based on availability, Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm

Coordination of schedule and classes will be coordinated with supervisor

Occasional evening hours are possible for special events, but not required
