Job summary

NYC School Construction Authority is seeking a Finance Specialist - A/B in New York, NY. The role conducts financial management tasks across accounts payable, budget, registration, accounting and timekeeping, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

You will work with Oracle Cloud Fusion, EBS and other systems, prepare reports for division directors, and supervise junior staff as needed. A bachelor's degree and relevant experience are required and the salary range aligns with NYC civil service.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 1 year of full-time accounting/payroll/timekeeping/budget experience (Finance Specialist - A).
• 2 years of full-time accounting/payroll/timekeeping/budget experience (Finance Specialist - B).

Responsibilities

• Process payments and resolve finance-related issues for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in supervising a unit such as Accounts Payable, Accounting or Contract Validation.
• Prepare financial reports for division directors.
• Maintain knowledge of Authority financial systems such as Oracle Cloud Fusion, PCM, RCMS, CAMP, FMS3, Oracle EBS and OAC.
• Create or modify purchase orders based on approved work authorizations.
• Collaborate with Encumbrance, Accounts Payable, IT, Construction Management and other internal departments to resolve financial discrepancies and support closeout activities.
