Job summary

Root Causes Medicine in San Antonio, TX seeks an Accounting & Finance Specialist to own daily financial operations. You will work with the Head of Practice and CFO to keep financials accurate and current, coordinating with clinical staff, vendors, and department leads to inform leadership decisions.

The role requires 3+ years in accounting/finance, a Bachelor's in a related field, and proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3+ years accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or professional services a plus.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
• Strong Excel skills and data accuracy are essential.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day financial operations for the practice.
• Collaborate with Head of Practice and CFO to keep the financial picture accurate and current.
• Interact with clinical staff, vendors, and department leads to gather information.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and purchasing support.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, schedules, and reporting.
• Ensure expense compliance and process reimbursements per policy.
• Prepare internal financial reports and schedules for leadership.
• Support external audits with organized records and responsive data.
• Assist with implementing and migrating to new financial systems.
