Guardian Life offers a 10-week Summer Internship in Corporate Finance & Risk – Investment Risk Management based in New York, NY. The program is paid, with mentorship, daily business exposure, and opportunities to work on projects alongside senior leaders and interns across the firm.

You will analyze portfolio exposures, support risk reporting, and learn about portfolio management within a thriving insurance-focused finance team.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Coursework or demonstrated interest in finance, investments, economics, accounting, statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience with Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Python, data analytics, or Gen AI tools is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Analyze investment portfolio exposures and risk metrics across fixed income, private credit, structured products, commercial real estate, and alternative investments.
• Support portfolio monitoring, risk reporting, stress testing, and scenario analysis used by senior management and risk committees.
• Conduct research on financial markets, emerging risks, regulatory developments, and industry trends affecting insurance company investment portfolios.
• Have the opportunity to work and learn from supportive leaders, mentors, and team members across the organization who will help coach you as you develop your professional career.
