Job summary

Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is offering a 2027 Summer Intern position in Corporate Finance & Risk – Investment Risk Management in New York, NY. The paid 10-week program provides hands-on experience analyzing investment portfolios, risk metrics across asset classes, and supporting risk reporting and stress testing for senior leaders.

Interns collaborate with mentors, gain insights into Guardian's risk framework, and may explore the Finance Leadership Development Program

Qualifications

• Interest in exploring multiple areas of Finance and Risk.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Coursework or demonstrated interest in finance, investments, economics, accounting, statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience with Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Python, data analytics, or Gen AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze investment portfolio exposures and risk metrics across fixed income, private credit, structured products, commercial real estate, and alternative investments.
• Support portfolio monitoring, risk reporting, stress testing, and scenario analysis used by senior management and risk committees.
• Conduct research on financial markets, emerging risks, regulatory developments, and industry trends affecting insurance company investment portfolios.
