Job summary

Advocate Health offers a remote internship in the Enterprise Corporate - People & Culture Workforce Development department. The 2027 program runs May 31 through August 6, 2027, with up to 40 hours per week, Mon–Fri during business hours.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in finance, accounting and data analysis, while supporting revenue-cycle projects and budgeting activities. Current students in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or Management (junior/senior) with a 2.5+ GPA are

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Management or related degree with junior or senior standing.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Use Excel to develop automated processes and minimize manual work.
• Review and analyze discrepancies in charges; assist with changes for professional and hospital charges.
• Prepare financial and statistical analyses and extract data for trend calculations.
• Support cost accounting standards development and variance analysis.
• Assist in pricing using costing methodologies and market data.
• Prepare and monitor operating and capital budgets.
• Support budgeting, finance, cost accounting, and reporting teams.
• Apply government program rules and reimbursement mechanisms to financial activities.
• Assist with revenue cycle tasks such as cash posting and insurance follow up.
• Track and update reports and assist with administrative duties.
