Advocate Health is seeking a Finance/Accounting internship for May 31, 2027 to August 6, 2027. The remote internship, 40 hours per week, offers work-from-home scheduling for residents in MI and other eligible states.

No prior experience required; ongoing degree enrollment in Finance, Accounting, or related fields is expected. You will develop automated Excel processes, review charges, and support financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting while gaining exposure to hospital revenue cycles and

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Management or a related field with junior or senior standing.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop automated processes in Excel to minimize manual effort.
• Review, analyze, and investigate discrepancies in charges; assist in changes for professional and hospital charges.
• Prepare financial and statistical analyses and extract data for trend calculations.
• Participate in cost accounting standards and budgeting analyses.
• Assist in development and maintenance of procedural prices using costing methodologies.
• Prepare, communicate and monitor operating and capital budgets.
• Support budgeting/finance/cost accounting and reporting activities.
• Apply government program rules to financial activities.
• Assist in charge reconciliation and revenue cycle projects.
• Track and update reports; handle administrative duties as needed.
• Contribute to program/process development and research for internal financial reporting.
