Job summary

Prince William County's Department of Parks & Recreation seeks a seasoned Business Services Administrator to lead budget, financial, and procurement services across the department. The role requires strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and a commitment to exceptional public service.

You will supervise a team, optimize operations, and drive transparency in financial reporting while partnering with other county agencies. This is a full-time, hybrid position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. with 7 years of progressive finance, procurement and budget experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred with 5 years in financial management in large organizations.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls; experience leading a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Annual Budget Preparation and Process Management.
• Budget analysis, reporting on budget vs. actuals, revenue and expenditures across divisions.
• Lead year-end close and audit for DPR compliance.
• Financial transactions reviewed and approved; ensure procurement policy adherence.
• Asset reporting including dispositions and year-end inventory.
• Coordinate with other county departments and external partners.
• Oversee department revenue collection and cash handling.
• Direct supervision of 3 FTE, 3 indirect FTE and 1 indirect part-time staff.
