Job summary

The City of Henderson, Kentucky is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee procurement, budgeting, and financial reporting. The role ensures compliance with state statutes and city policies while supporting strategic decision-making for the City’s finances.

Reporting to the CFO, you will supervise procurement, utility billing, and occupational license operations, lead bid processes, and drive process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or closely related field; plus 3 years’ experience in accounting, purchasing, financial analysis or budgeting.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees procurement functions including reviewing POs and ensuring proper accounting.
• Coordinates bids/quotes; drafts bid specs and opens bids in public settings.
• Prepares budget documents, financial reports, and variance analyses for CFO and Assistant CFO.
• Monitors compliance with state statutes, city ordinances, grant requirements and procurement policies.
• Supervises utility billing and occupational license offices as needed and trains staff.
