CITY OF HENDERSON, KENTUCKY
CLASSIFICATION TITLE: FINANCE MANAGER
The purpose of this classification is to provide purchasing and operational support to the City and finance department. The Finance Manager is responsible for the City’s procurement process and will work closely with other departments to ensure that procurement needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. In addition, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, monitoring internal controls of the utility billing and occupational license areas, and supporting management in strategic decision-making for the City.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or closely related field; supplemented by three (3) years previous experience and/or training involving accounting, purchasing/procurement, financial analysis, financial management, budget development; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Professional certifications such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
