Job summary

Border States, a leading employee-owned electrical distributor, seeks a Manager of Payables and Receivables in Fargo, ND. This role leads enterprise-wide accounting operations, including AP, AR, and expense systems, with a focus on scalable processes and cross-functional collaboration.

You will mentor supervisors, drive process improvements, and support audits and integrations. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, 8 years’ experience, and SAP/Concur expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting preferred.
• Professional business, finance, or accounting licensure preferred.
• Prior people management and team leadership experience required.
• Experience with workforce planning, performance management, and employee development preferred.
• Prior project management experience required.
• Experience leading process improvement, automation, or system implementation preferred.
• Experience with SAP or similar accounting systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns end-to-end processes across AP, AR, expense management, corporate card administration, fleet administration, vendor disbursements, cash application, and related transactional accounting activities.
• Establishes and maintains consistent processes, workflows, controls, and performance standards.
• Maintains policies and SOPs to ensure consistent execution by teams.
• Leads a multi-functional organization through supervisors and teams.
• Oversees Concur, Motus, corporate card programs, and related integrations for compliance and accuracy.
• Drives staffing, capacity planning, and resource allocation to meet demands.
• Provides coaching and accountability to direct reports and leaders.
