Rutgers University–New Brunswick seeks a Unit Specialist for the Division of Life Sciences within the School of Arts and Sciences. The role entails monitoring expenditures, analyzing financial data, ensuring policy compliance, and maintaining data systems.

You will support day‑to‑day operations and act as a liaison across departments, working under general supervision in a dynamic university environment. The position offers a 40‑hour work week with potential hybrid arrangements, temporary hourly

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field with two years of relevant experience.
Strong communication and computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
Knowledge of GAAP practices and accounting concepts.

Responsabilités

Monitors, verifies, and reconciles expenditures of budgeted funds and prepares financial statements.
Analyzes financial data and prepares financial documents for internal and external use.
Ensures compliance with University and sponsor policies.
Creates and maintains databases for employee and historical data.
Assists in day-to-day operations and development of DLS policies.
Performs special tasks and projects for management.
Acts as liaison to integrate DLS activities across departments.
Works under general supervision with routine and non-routine tasks.
Performs professional work requiring GAAP knowledge.
