Job summary

Vesta, Inc, located in Lanham, MD, is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Specialist to ensure accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions. The role reports to the Finance Director and collaborates with regional teams across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting operations experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced skills in Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• 3–5 years of accounting operations experience.
• Strong working knowledge of AP, AR, and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of GAAP and IRS reporting requirements (including 1099s).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, deposits, and vendor inquiries.
• Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations in Microsoft Business Central.
• Process journal entries, accruals, and reallocations.
• Manage organizational credit card transactions and expense allocations.
• Review financial and Power BI reports, identify discrepancies, and correct errors.
• Support HUD, SSA, IRS, and state compliance requirements, including annual 1099 processing.
• Process biweekly and monthly payroll.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Provide professional customer service and respond to inquiries.
• Participate in finance meetings, trainings, and ongoing compliance activities.
