Job summary

Cobb County Government is seeking a skilled manager to oversee budgeting, accounting and purchasing for an assigned department. You will supervise staff, ensure policy compliance, and coordinate financial planning and reporting.

Responsibilities include budget preparation, monitoring expenditures and revenues, procurement compliance, grant management, and preparing a variety of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public or Business Administration required.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in business accounting, finance, purchasing and budget administration.
• CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgeting, accounting and purchasing operations for an assigned department.
• Supervise, direct, evaluate and schedule staff; review timesheets and address employee concerns.
• Prepare and monitor the department's budget; analyze financial performance and reports.
• Oversee procurement in compliance with County policies and maintain related docs.
• Review financial transactions for proper classification and fund availability; process invoices.
• Monitor grant contracts and reimbursements; assist with audits and required records.
• Produce month-end, quarterly and year-end financial reports; respond to inquiries.
