Job summary

Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a Finance Division Manager to oversee the operation and staff of a large, complex division within the Finance department. The role focuses on general accounting operations, ACFR preparation, and ensuring compliance with GASB, GAAP, and state regulations.

You will supervise staff, develop budgets, implement policies, and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related field is required.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced leadership and oversight.
• Seven years of professional level experience in the area of assignment or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manages general accounting operations and prepares work papers, schedules, and fund variances.
• Assists in ACFR preparation and other financial reports; ensures GASB/GAAP compliance.
• Directs staff, oversees scheduling, timesheets, and performance appraisals.
• Plans and implements long- and short-term goals for the division.
• Develops and administers the assigned division's budget and monitors expenditures.
• Communicates with external auditors during annual audits and supports year-end statements.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field

Master's Degree preferred
