Job summary

City of Azle seeks an experienced Assistant Finance Director to guide the City’s accounting and financial reporting operations. You will lead staff, ensure GAAP/GASB compliance, and partner with departments on budgeting and strategic initiatives.

The role requires managing audits, developing internal controls, and providing financial guidance to City leadership while maintaining confidentiality and integrity of information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration or related field.
• At least five years in accounting or governmental finance, including two years in supervision.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, fixed assets and general ledger.
• Coordinate monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports and statements.
• Lead annual financial audit coordination and supporting documentation.
