Job summary

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is seeking an intern to support the Member Financial Operations (MFO) division. This role involves daily transaction support, data analysis for efficiencies, and contributing to risk and project work.

You will collaborate with MFO teams, respond to member inquiries, and assist with data requests for audits. The position emphasizes compliance awareness and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Proficient Word and Excel; SQL experience a plus.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Working towards a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance.
• Compliance background focusing on AML, fraud and financial regulations is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage others respectfully, self-motivate, and good organization and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the MFO teams to support daily operations, quality control initiatives and various projects.
• Respond to member correspondence requests for information.
• Monitor, identify, and report on AML, OFAC, fraud or other risk issues escalated timely.
• Assist with pulling data for Internal and External Audit requests.
• Contribute to projects and the development of solutions to improve effectiveness of processes, reduce risk and promote efficiencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
