Job summary

Austin Achieve Public Schools is seeking a Director of Finance Operations to oversee payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, and financial systems for approximately 460 employees and vendor payments. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of financial operations as the organization grows across campuses.

Reporting to the CFO, you will lead and develop the finance team, strengthen internal controls, and drive system enhancements while partnering with budget owners, HR, and school

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree a plus.
• 5–7+ years of progressive experience in finance with payroll & accounts payable responsibilities.
• Leadership or management experience in a finance context.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership of payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, and financial systems.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance operations team.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
• Oversee vendor onboarding and three-way matching of PO, invoices, and receipts.
• Collaborate with CFO, Comptroller, HR, and budget owners across campuses.
