Job summary

Abaka AI in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Finance Operations Associate to help build and scale our global financial operations. You will own core workflows including accounts payable, invoice processing, and expense management, partnering with leadership and external accounting partners.

As an early member of the Finance Operations team, you will help design scalable processes, support monthly closings, maintain records, monitor budgets, and assist with forecasting and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in finance operations, accounting, or related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial statements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own accounts payable process, review invoices, process payments, and vendor records.
• Track reimbursements, corporate card expenses, and operational spending.
• Reconcile bank accounts, payment platforms, and financial transactions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close with external accounting partners.
• Maintain invoices, purchase records, and payment history; ensure accuracy.
• Monitor budgets and vendor costs to inform leadership decisions.
• Assist with financial forecasting, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
• Coordinate with HR on payroll-related operations and documentation.
• Improve internal finance processes through automation and best practices.
• Support tax, audit, and compliance activities with organized records.
