Job summary

The University of Utah is seeking a Finance Manager to lead Sunnyside Apartments' Accounting & Finance team. You will supervise a staff member, manage day-to-day accounting and reporting, and coordinate with campus leadership on financial metrics.

Responsibilities include invoicing, payroll, purchasing, budgeting, and reconciliation between Yardi Voyager and PeopleSoft. A Bachelor's degree with 6 years of related experience (or a Master’s with 4 years) is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 6 years directly related work experience or a master's degree plus 4 years directly related work experience.
• Equivalency statement: each year of higher education can be substituted for one year of directly related work experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in financial management and reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, and supervise accounting teams; ensure GAAP adherence.
• Prepare and review regulatory filings and advise on annual budgeting.
• Manage close processes; analyze financials for leadership presentations.
• Handle daily financial operations: A/P, A/R, purchasing card program, deposits, petty cash.
• Coordinate monthly/annual P&L, balance sheets, budgets, and financial reporting to stakeholders.
• Oversee inventory; maintain records per policy; supervise audits and archiving.
• Lead hiring, performance appraisals, and pay reviews for staff.
