Skagit Conservation District seeks a Finance Manager to safeguard financial stewardship, ensure efficiency, and support administrative operations. The role focuses on GAAP-based governmental accounting, budgeting, and reporting for multiple funds under the District’s policies.

Responsibilities include payroll processing, vendor management, grant invoicing, and annual budget coordination with external partners.

Qualifications

• Experience applying GAAP principles in governmental finance.
• Strong understanding of governmental accounting practices.
• Ability to prepare monthly/annual financial statements and budget reports.
• Experience with payroll processing and tax filings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records using government practices for restricted funds and BARS accounting.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and budget-to-actual reports.
• Manage bank reconciliations, tax filings, payables, receivables, and grant documentation.
• Oversee vendor communications, purchase orders, and posting in the accounting system.
• Support grant budgets, reporting, and audits with external partners.
• Ensure compliance with state and district financial requirements and retention rules.
